“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
“God’s Perpetual Motion“
Q: How to flow with God’s motions of surrender
A: I surely want to have peace in my life and not just some days but every day, I’m sure you do as well. We were never meant to live life in a constant state of worry and turmoil.
God has the best solution for this: surrender all, put it down, and walk away! Do not touch or take it back—it’s not yours anymore. We, as children of God, can no longer be victims or play victims when we have someone who wants to help us. Our God is ready to receive anything we can’t handle and deals with our burdens swiftly only when we trust Him and surrender. When we hand God our problems, He hands us peace. It’s quite a nice exchange rate, as God always throws in an extra bit of power, love, and a sound mind into the deal.
This is what we are seeing right now and are currently living in: the fallen world. This world is far from perfect, and everyone you know has problems and issues of their own. Let us take comfort in the truth that God only wants the best for us, all the time. He can only take your pain, problems, and burdens if you let go of them. Our Father isn’t going to fight with you about your trust issues; He’ll patiently wait for you to surrender.
Not surrendering your burdens to God can take a toll on your soul and family life. Small problems and issues left unattended—not surrendering them—become bigger and out-of-control burdens. Sorry for putting it this way, but burden upon burden just becomes a pile of stinking dung. Think out this: If burdens are only “dung”—rubbish that needs to be in the bin—you should not carry this around; it can’t be healthy. It is just not normal and should stop.
Ask yourself this today:
When bad times or difficult situations arise in your life, are you inclined to run to God, or do you like to struggle all by yourself and then play the victim when you fail miserably? Do you maybe have unresolved trust issues that need some attention?
Let’s Pray:
Father, I am stubborn and tend to love doing my own thing. I like to wonder and worry. Please forgive me for that. Take my anxious heart and flood it with your peace! I surrender!
In Jesus’ name. Amen!
