Shut the gate behind you.

Matthew 7:13-14

“[The Narrow and Wide Gates] “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

“It’s hard but worth it.

Q: Have you found the gate?

A: Some might believe that this verse speaks of Jesus as the gate, but it is far from it. Yes, Christ is the key that unlocks the glorious grace that abounds from the throne. The gate is that moment in time where Jesus intercedes and creates an amazing opportunity for all to start our salvation journey.

What an amazing gift we receive when, in the lowest moments in our lives, we find “the gate.” In this precious instant when God asks us to go on the most mind-binding journey, we all have to face ourselves and decide—take the turnoff or keep going. Only a few will opt-in to exit the main road, but what a great day it is for God’s kingdom.

“Whoever seeks to save his life will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] will keep it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God]. [Matt 10:39; 16:25; Mark 8:35; Luke 9:24; John 12:25]”

Many have found the truth about God—that he sent his son Jesus Christ—but never actually complete the process of dedicating one’s life to the kingdom. [Luke 8:4-15] Many know of Jesus but DO NOT know Jesus. Some will never go beyond this point, as “SELF’ is too important to sacrifice.

If you are on this path, praise be to God; you have found true life and are on the road to completing your salvation, but let us not be selfish and not share this great love story with others.

Ask yourself this today:

How dedicated are you, truly? Is believing in Jesus enough, or have you been duped into thinking your salvation is complete while still traveling on the broad road?

Let’s Pray:

Father, help me in my deliverance and salvation. Make your wonder working power complete in me. Teach me on the narrow roads; meet me on the scary, sharp bends of life—I surrender!

In Jesus’ name. Amen!
