Bear it all

Romans 8:6 AMP

Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever];

Exposed”

Q: Do you feel a bit exposed and vulnerable right now?

A: When walking with God, He sometimes asks you to throw off you’re covering to reveal the true you. He will use people and circumstances to break open our stubborn hearts. Clearly, we do not understand how we have set up defences to protect ourselves until we’re asked to bear it all.

Off course, He already knows who you are—He’s seen it all, but this exercise is only meant for you. Holding on to tightly might cost you your peace. Stress is good in the primal sense, but for day-to-day living, it only destroys the bearer. God knows this and always wants the best for us, but only if we will take it willingly.

God is such a gentleman, He obliviously pursues us with everything that is in Him, but when it comes to surrendering, you need to give yourself willingly.  When you TRUST God, you are inclined to share, surrender and open up freely. You can only change your ways when you see the error in them.

For you to serve a Spiritual God, you need to encompass this truth; this, in short, means you have to become something greater than your current self. You have to let God recreate you into a new creation [born again] (Romans 12:2).

No one wants to be around a know-it-all, stubborn person with a bad attitude; they tend to be a bit “sticky” in their ways, and being around them has a great cost—it can even be dangerous.

Ask yourself this today:

How can I become the version that God sees in me and what should I lay down to make this transformation complete? Would it not be sensible to just surrender?

Let’s Pray:

Father, I am scared that if I give you me, that I will lose my true sense of self. Who will I become if I’m not me? Lord, I really want what you want for me. Help me in my struggle for surrender. It’s hard for me to let go… help me?

In Jesus’ name. Amen!
