Are You Serving the Served King or the Servant King?

Matthew 6:33 – But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

The way you approach and emulate Christ is crucial. Your understanding of Christ as King can either uplift or mislead those around you—especially those who need to hear the true message of the Gospel. What you choose now will echo into eternity. The way you project Christ to the world will define your ministry and transform how you give—whether it be time, money, or love. How you reflect Christ matters. It is your responsibility to live Kingdom down.

Let me explain. If your understanding of a king is one who rules with absolute power and strength, reigning only for SELF—to be served at every beck and call, splendiferously provided for, unquestioned in authority and might—the outcome is clear. This king may be successful, but he will be known by his people as “The Served King” -selfcentered and egotistical.

On the other hand, there is “The Servant King”. His motto is not self but SERVE. This does not mean he is weak or timid in battle. Rather, he responds passionately to his people’s needs, ready at every beck and call to serve and assist. This king manifests his power through love and servitude, not dominance or brute force. Christ is the Servant King. He chose to lay down His life so that we might be redeemed and reconciled to the Father. His entire ministry was about advancing His Father’s Kingdom—helping, serving, teaching, healing, and sacrificing.

Ultimately, Christ sets the tone for everything you must do—from family to business life. At least, He should? His stance on serving will open new horizons for you. If you insist on doing things your own way, you may find success, but it will always be limited. God’s results are infinitely better and complete.

In short, brother, if you are living as a self-serving king, lay down your pride and your own plans, and choose to serve! Christ served—and so must we. Who you choose to be will define your life here on earth and echo into eternity.
