Walk away

By Koa Sinag

Hebrews 6:10

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

“Choosing to abstain”

Everything we do here on earth will echo into eternity. Do you believe this as well? Yes, good works won’t get you into heaven, but it helps when you show love instead of choosing to abstain.

We should never refrain from becoming servants at heart; it is the ultimate evolution in becoming Christlike. How can we serve the servant King, when we fight and kick when it is time to reciprocate Christ’s love. We need to help because we have been helped FIRST.

Luke 10:25-37 is a great example of what we as Christians tend to do when it is time to “pay it forward.” We walk by and do nothing. We foolishly believe that someone else will help, but what if the truth is that you have failed, and because of you, that family did not get the miracle they needed and prayed for? Your pride might be harming others—think about this.

Love is not a distance “thing.” Love is hands-on; get dirty and full of dust and sometimes tears—love will cost you something of yourself. Love is a labor, and those who have truly found it have found heaven; they have found the heart of God. We love to pray “as it is in heaven,” but we shy away from our responsibilities as children of God. How will this world know of the only true God if we do not show them? The world needs to see God!

Let’s Pray:

Father, I’m stiff-necked and think I’m better than others. I have sinned against you by not helping, by walking away. Pull me down to my real size—show me the real me.

In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Spread the love
