Are you forsaken?

By Koa Sinag

Psa_22:1

“MY GOD, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning? “[Matt. 27:46.]

Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani?

Many of us don’t know this, but before Jesus uttered these final words on the cross, David wrote them in Ps. 22. Although we only see David as a king, this poor individual had to endure much suffering due to his own choices and what others had done to him.

You might be going through a bad patch or a very long season, but you can take solace in the fact that Jesus and David also had to endure a deep time of testing and trials. If the Son of God is not exempt from hard times, why do you think you will be spared?

Prayer:

Father, as we daily take up our cross and feel the burden and weight of our own surrender, please help us to understand that you are not abandoning us, but for the purpose of the process, you can’t step in and take us out of our fire trial.

Thank you, Father, that I will meet you on the other side and that I will never be alone. Open my eyes to the real truth that Jesus is by my side in these horrible circumstances.

In Jesus’ name.
