My heart thoughts.
Romans 10:9-10
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
I think we should not be so easily blinded by our daily struggles, which can take so much of our focus away from the truth in our lives. Surrendering, laying down “self” at the feet of the throne, should never be a once-off declaration but a banner/decree uttered out of our mouths first thing in the morning—a daily habit. Making your “heart thoughts” verbal will only cement your faith in the physical world.
Today, in the midst of your day, let us not forget to hold fast to this truth: that all other functions, thinking, and doings are subject to this main belief: Christ died for ALL my sins; I am now set right with Father God because of the sacrifice on the cross, and I am saved by the blood of Christ Jesus. I AM A CHILD OF GOD! I am saved because Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
Father, we are limited in our understanding, and we fall very much short of being holy. The crux of You is filled with only LOVE, but the world around us wants us to only see “the warring God,” the strict father… Yes, you are also that kind of father, but I pray that you will reveal yourself to me in a special way.
Teach my eyes to see the world of the Father all around me and help me understand the truth of your kingdom—You love me very much, and I AM SAVED! Even when my heart is in doubt and my world is falling apart around me, please show me the hidden “gems” of your character in me and all around me.
In Jesus’ name.
